On the heels of a VidCon announcement, YouTube revealed it will incorporate Aloud, an AI-powered dubbing service birthed from Google‘s Area 120 incubator. This significant move promises to augment the viewing experience on the platform.

Designed to aid content creators in adding dubbing to their videos, the system initiates the process by transcribing the video content. Once a draft is prepared, creators are given the opportunity to review before translation and dubbing are executed.

A game-changing move: YouTube introduces Playables

As if dubbing weren’t exciting enough, YouTube announces the addition of Playables – a feature introducing mini-games to the platform.

The AI-based tool is currently being tested with numerous content creators and presently offers limited language support. As stated in the announcement, Aloud supports English, Spanish, and Portuguese languages, but an expansion of languages is expected down the line.

The company displays a strong belief that this system will see significant advancements in the coming years. YouTube’s vision includes adding features like ‘dubbing with the creator’s voice’, ‘enhanced expression’, and ‘lip-syncing’, to elevate the dubbing experience to the next level.
